In its March General Assembly, the Association of Hungarian Television Broadcasters (MEME) unanimously elected Mr Sambor Ryszka, media and telecommunications professional, previous Managing Director, Legal and Regulatory Director of DIGI Kft., for its new president.
The position became vacant when after eight years of presidency the mandate of media expert Mr Krisztián Kovács expired. The General Assembly expressed its deep appreciation to Mr Kovács for his work done in the Association, who due to his other engagements did not wish to be nominated again. The mandate of the new President of the professional association that unites television broadcasters operating in Hungary is for two years.
Mr Sambor Ryszka obtained his degree in law from Eötvös Loránd University in 2004. Following his graduation, till 2011 he worked for the Partos and Noblet Law Firm, then from 2011 to 2019 he acted as Legal and Regulatory Director and later as Managing Director of DIGI Kft. 2017 to 2018 he was member of the Board of Directors of Invitel Zrt., and between 2017 and 2019 of the Board of Directors of DIGI Communications N.V. Currently Mr Ryszka works as an advisor in media and telecommunications.
The President’s work will be supported by Vice Presidents Ms Gabriella Vidus, CEO of RTL Hungary, and Mr Miklós Vaszily, Chairman and CEO of TV2, both elected by MEME last year.
